About the Australian Fashion Council

The Australian Fashion Council (AFC) exists to promote the growth of the textile & fashion industry in Australia, with a history of over 65 years of service to the industry.

The AFC is a not-for-profit membership organisation, with members drawn from across the fashion and textile industry. When we look at the industry, we are viewing ‘fashion’ as encompassing the entire spectrum of the value chain. From students to multinational companies. From shopping centres to fibre growers. From workwear companies to luxury goods. From the product to the consumer.

We see supporting labels and designers as a key part of that ecosystem, which is where the AFC Curated program fits in.

About The Strand Arcade

The Strand Arcade is Sydney's home of craftsmanship and a distinctive offer of Australian designers including Camilla and Marc, Aje, Dion Lee, Alex Perry and Manning Cartell. Established in 1891, The Strand Arcade is an important heritage landmark within Sydney, being the only Victorian shopping arcade remaining in its original form today. The Strand Arcade is a magnet for expert makers and artisans. It invites the finest from all over Australia, to inspire and be inspired within its walls. The Strand Arcade values physical and social connections, in fuelling creativity and success. Itself, a community of artisans assembled together, each connected to one another and their customers, by shared values and ideals.
